The Computer Science department at Swansea University, supported by the Royal Academy of Engineering, Google Deepmind and Hg Foundation, is delighted to offer a unique opportunity for undergraduate students from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds to gain hands-on experience in artificial intelligence (AI) research.
You will work at the wonderful Computational Foundry at Swansea University’s Bay Campus. This £32.5 million world-class facility is a beacon for research collaborations and innovation in computational and mathematical sciences, with state-of-the-art research facilities. Here, you will be exposed to a thriving research community, working alongside some of the greatest minds that the UK has to offer in areas such as:
- Human-centred and Human-in-the-loop AI
- Machine Learning and Optimisation
- AI security and privacy
- Artificial and biological cognition
- Computational intelligence
- Explainable and ethical AI
- Robotics
- Symbolic and logical AI
Swansea is also the home of Zienkiewicz Institute for Modelling, Data and AI, where our vision is to advance research in the field of mathematical and computational modelling, data science, artificial intelligence and their synthesis, and to deliver transformative solutions to real-world problems.
In addition, you will be housed in our on-campus accommodation, nestled right by the beach, with stunning views and a serene environment, perfect for studying, working and relaxing.
Join us this summer and take the first step towards a rewarding career in AI research. We can’t wait to work with you!
